UIN Sunan Kalijaga
Yogyakarta is embarking on a major academic milestone with the planned
establishment of its Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK). As part of
its strategic preparations, the university hosted a two-day Workshop on
Proposal Development, held April 25–26, 2025, at the PAU Building on campus.
This event marks a
critical step in finalizing the academic and administrative groundwork required
for the new medical program. Opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Abdur
Rozaki, S.Ag., M.Si., Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation, and
officially launched by Rector Prof. Noorhaidi, Ph.D., who highlighted the two
primary goals of the workshop: completing the medical curriculum and preparing
the accreditation documents (borang) necessary for program approval.
According to Prof.
Noorhaidi, UIN Sunan Kalijaga holds a solid institutional foundation—with
top-ranked study programs, international partnerships, and a track record of
reputable academic publications. These strengths, combined with the
university's commitment to integrating science, ethics, and Islamic values,
will shape a distinctive medical faculty that is interdisciplinary,
value-based, and responsive to today’s global health challenges.
Attending the workshop were a number of experts from diverse medical fields, including:
- Prof. Dr. Hj. Sri Sumarni,
M.Pd. (Chair of the Medical Faculty Establishment Team)
- dr. Chusni Mubarakh, Sp.PD.,
SH., MSc., MHkes., FINASIM., FISQua., Cmed
- dr. Murtafiqoh Hasanah, Sp.N
- dr. Fitri Kartika, S.H.,
M.HKes., FISQua., C.Med.
- dr. Adina Silviasari, Sp.KJ,
as well as key academic and administrative personnel from across the university.
The workshop,
facilitated by experts from Diponegoro University’s Medu and Borang Teams,
featured focused sessions on curriculum design, faculty resources, and
governance structures for the program. Constructive dialogue among curriculum
developers, interdisciplinary scholars, and clinicians provided valuable input
for finalizing the academic structure, learning outcomes, and graduate
profiles.
This initiative is
part of UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s broader mission to contribute to national
development and the global Muslim community through education that is
scientifically robust and ethically grounded.
“The Faculty of
Medicine at UIN Sunan Kalijaga is not just a future aspiration—it is an
emerging academic reality, built through vision, collaboration, and unwavering
commitment to excellence.”
